Ruth L. Ludwigs

CHATSWORTH, Iowa - Ruth L. Ludwigs, 79, of Chatsworth died Thursday, March
11, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron,
Iowa, with the Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside
Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family
present 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Schroeder Funeral
Home.

Mrs. Ludwigs was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Sioux City, the daughter of Carl H.
and Nannie O. (Swedeberg) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Lutheran faith. She attended school in Lawton, Iowa, graduating in 1936.

She married John Ludwigs on Aug. 4, 1973, in Chatsworth.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church
Women, and Lutheran Brotherhood. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting and
ceramics.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Ken and Jill
Johnson of Denver, Colo., and Jeff and Barb Robinson of Chatsworth; a
daughter and her husband, Margo and Paul Hodgins of Sioux City; a
stepdaughter, Judy Smith of Sioux City; two stepsons and their wives, Jim
and Lori Ludwigs and Jay and Cheryl Ludwigs, all of Omaha, Neb.; six
sisters, Esther Arnswald of Le Mars, Iowa, Vivian Comstock of Arizona,
Lavone Rose of Sioux City, Carol Axelson of Wisconsin, June Utesch of
Loveland, Colo., and Nadine Mook of Salix, Iowa; a brother, Bob Olson of
Fort Collins, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Ralph
Olson; and a sister, Marilyn Olson.

Pallbearers will be Greg Summers, Jerry Johnson, Jason Robinson, Glenn
Farrer, Tom Reeves and Kenny Smith.
