PLACE of DEATH: at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, Iowa
DATE of BIRTH: June 4, 1916
PLACE of BIRTH: Fort Dodge, Iowa
PARENTS: son of Joseph El Nathan and Lena Mae (Cumpston) Jeys
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Wanda E. Thompson, Jan. 4, 1937
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: Webster City, Iowa
OCCUPATION: He worked for Beam Manufacturing in Webster City from 1939 to 1942 as a war materials inspector. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre as a communications specialist. After his discharge, he returned to Webster City and managed Graham Dairy and also re-enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard. In 1951, the family moved to LeMars, where he worked full time with the Iowa Army National Guard as a supply sergeant. He also attended Westmar College. In 1953, he began his 30-year career with Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative (NIPCO) as a work order clerk. He retired from the National Guard in 1964, after serving 20 years. He also retired from NIPCO in 1981 after 30 years.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; three daughters; a son; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Mary Wood of Breckenridge, Mich., and Eda Lou Keele and her husband, Dean of Albany, Wis.; two brothers and their wives, Jack and Jane Jeys of Davenport, and Gene and Eve Jeys of Grants, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his parents; three brothers, George, Don and LeRoy; three sisters, Jenny Anderson, Margarette Jeys and Alice Bock; a daughter, Geraldine Jeys; and a grandson, George Byron Jeys.
PLACE of BURIAL: Memorial Cemetery, LeMars, Iowa
