OCCUPATION: They were married for 26 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, stationed in Vietnam for one year. Following his discharge, the couple lived in Louisville, KY, for 11 years. They returned to Akron in 1980, when he took over his father’s State Farm Insurance Agency.
SURVIVORS: include a son, Phil, of State College, Penn.; two daughters, Heather and Nichole Johnson, both of Cedar Falls, Iowa; his parents of Akron; a brother and his wife, Ken and Barbara Jean of Albert Lea, Minn.; his companion, Marietta Nielsen of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Roy Pike.
