PLACE of BIRTH: near Merrill, Iowa
PARENTS: son of Theodore and Elizabeth (Wiltgen) Hoffmann

OCCUPATION: He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Sioux City by Bishop Edmund Heelan on April 27, 1943. He served the following parishes in the Sioux City Diocese: St. Joseph’s in Sioux City, St. Joseph’s (Neptune) in rural Hinton, Iowa, St. Joseph’s in Schaller, Iowa, St. Mary’s in Rock Valley, Iowa. St. Mary’s in Danbury, Iowa; St. Joseph’s in Granville, Iowa, Holy Name in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Our Lady of Good Council in Holstein, Iowa. He retired in July 1991 and moved to Sioux City.
SURVIVORS: include three brothers, Louis of Sedalia, Mo., George and his wife, Fidelis of Merrill, and Pete of LaPuente, Calif.; and 13 nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his parents and two brothers, Martin and Albert.
PLACE of BURIAL: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Ellendale
