CAUSE OF DEATH: following a lengthy illness
DATE of DEATH: Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999
PLACE of DEATH: at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, Iowa
DATE of BIRTH: March 21, 1929
PLACE of BIRTH: Lynch, Nebraska
PARENTS: son of Leo and Lillian (Padden) Homan
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Margaret “Peggy” Geisler, June 21, 1968
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: in rural Merrill, Iowa
OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a medic. Following his discharge, he worked on the Kuehn farm near Merrill. After marriage the couple lived in North Sioux City, Neb., for several years, before moving to Merrill. He was employed as a truck driver with Wagner Trucking for 32 years. In 1990, they moved to LeMars. She died May 29, 1998.
SURVIVORS: include two sons; eight grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his parents; a sister, Patsy Coan; and a brother, Joe.
PLACE of BURIAL: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Merrill, Iowa
