PLACE OF MARRIAGE: at St.Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Remsen, Iowa
OCCUPATION: He attended Iowa State University for three years before entering the service during World War II. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 ˝ years with the 69th Infantry and was honored with a Bronze Star. After the service, he managed the dry milk plant at Mason City for Sate Brand Creameries for 9 ˝ years. He then worked as a sales representative for CRE-PAC-CO., a food equipment processor and refrigeration company. He also owned and managed the Hobby House in LeMars from 1974 to 1984.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; two step daughters and their husbands; a stepson and his wife; two sisters, Alvina Harms of Olewein and Esther Oakley of Broomfield, Colo.; six step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his parents; two brothers, Albert and Otto Harms; and a sister, Rose Harms.
PLACE of BURIAL: Memorial Cemetery, LeMars, Iowa
