OCCUPATION: She graduated from Remsen High School in 1913 and attended normal school in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught school in Akron, Aurelia, and Marcus, Iowa, where she taught and served as Junior High principal.
SURVIVORS: include one daughter, Ila Obrien of Carterville, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kathy, Mary, Julie, and Tom Obrien; and one great grandson.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: Her husband died in 1982. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Lee Obrien; three brothers, Charles, Fred, and John Earnest; and four sisters, Catherine Galles, Charlotte (Dot) Trienen, Augusta (Gussie) Kramer, Magdelene (Lena) Mechnig, and Emma in infancy.
