PLACE of DEATH: at South Ridge Health Care Center, in Sioux Falls, S.D.
DATE of BIRTH: March 3, 1925
PLACE of BIRTH: on the family farm near LeMars, Iowa
PARENTS: son of Louis & Tena (Kruse) Halweg
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Betty Jean Boetger, Sept. 20, 1945
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: Akron, Iowa
OCCUPATION: They made their home on a farm in the Craig and Struble, Iowa, areas. He was also a trucker and cattle buyer. They moved to Mitchell, S.D., in 1976, where he continued to buy cattle and enjoyed raising quarter horses. Betty Jean died Oct. 1, 1983. On Oct. 12, 1984, he and Darlene Peterson were married. In 1985, they moved to Miami, Okla., before retiring to Beresford, S.D. In July 2000, he suffered a stroke and moved to South Ridge Health Care Center.
SURVIVORS: include a son and a daughter; six grandchildren; three sisters.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his parents and an infant grandson.
PLACE of BURIAL: St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, rural Craig, Iowa
