Edythe Viola Eilks, 85, Sioux City, a Plymouth county native, died Wednesday (Nov. 11, 1987) at Sioux City St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. She lived in Le Mars all her life until moving to Sioux City in 1984 to make her home with her daughter.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars with Rev. Robert Grupp officiating. Burial was in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home.

Edythe Viola Rowe was born Jan. 4, 1902, at rural Le Mars to Charles J. and Hilda J. Erickson Rowe. She married Henry M. Eilks Feb. 14, 1922, in Le Mars. She was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, the church ladies aid group, was past president of the general group of church women and past member of the Deaconess of Church. She was a member of the Le Mars Sunshine club.

Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Willis (Joyce) Harms of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Newell of Sioux City, and a grandson, Mark L. Harms of Sioux City; two great-grandchildren, Chad and Tiffany, and a sister, Mrs. Bertsel (Ethel) Brown of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, two brothers, a granddaughter and a grandson.
