Kingsley--Our people were greatly shocked last Sunday afternoon when the report reached here of the death of G. W. Wilson, which occurred at his home west of Kingsley. Mr. Wilson had been ailing for a number of years, but had been able to be about and attend his business affairs. About two weeks ago he had the misfortune to step on a nail, which penetrated his foot and gave him some trouble, but it was not thought that it would result seriously. However, he became very ill last Saturday and his death occurred Sunday as above stated.

Geo. W. Wilson, son of Robert and Katherine Wilson, was born June 17, 1854 (June 7, 1853 per death record), at Monticello, Ia. While still a boy he came with his parents to Idlewild, where he resided till the day of his death, which occurred Sunday, May 17, 1914. His parents died while he was still a young man he became both father and mother to the other children. He leaves to mourn his departure, six sisters and two brothers. Mrs. G. H. George, of Monticello, Iowa; Mrs. W. L. Royter, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. E. T. Crane and Mrs. W. F. McCullough, of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. D. A. Oltmann, of Kingsley; Miss Katherine and Tom, of Idlewild, and Frank, of Grayburg, Texas. George was one of the earths' true noblemen, mingled with a great love for nature and his love for children and friends. People had but to know him to love him. His clean, manly life was an inspiration to all and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Truly the world does reverence to such a life, and God can say "Well done." It can be truly said that his friends were numbered by the score and all feel the world has been made better by his having lived in it. The funeral services were held at the home in Idlewild last Thursday and were conducted by Rev. Wilcox, Episcopal minister from LeMars, after which the remains were taken to LeMars where they were laid to rest beside those of his parents. The Masonic burial service was conducted at the grave. The services were attended, both at the home and at the grave by one of the largest funeral corteges ever seen in this part of the country.
