MRS. CARRIE SWISHER

Mrs. Carrie Swisher, 81, of Merrill, and a former Hinton resident, died Thursday (Aug. 27, 1981) at St. Joseph’s hospital, Sioux City.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's American Lutheran Church. Rev. Harold Norheim officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery.

Mrs. Swisher was born Nov. 5, 1899, in Merrill. She was a lifelong Plymouth county resident.

She married John Swisher, Dec. 23, 1919, in Merrill and he died on April 14, 1951.

She was a lifelong member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.

Survivors are two sons, John of Harlan and William of Merrill; five daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Evelyn) Andersen of Sioux City, Mrs. Marvin (Elvera) Marienau of Merrill, Mrs. Vernon (Opal) Singer of LeMars, Mrs. Norman (Versella) Grasz of Ireton, and Mrs. Clarence (Lucille) Carlson of Beresford, S.D.; one brother, Elmer Karley of Sioux City; 20 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
