DIES, RITES AT MERRILL
WEDNESDAYMrs. Emma Marie Dennler, 75, a resident of Merrill for the past 40 years died Sunday, June 8, at the Sacred Heart hospital after a three-week illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Merrill Methodist church with Rev. D.E. Streyffeler officiating. Burial will be in the Merrill cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Emma Veidt Dennler was born Nov. 4, 1876, in Sioux City. As a child, she moved to a farm near Merrill with her parents. She was married to Albert H. Dennler June 24, 1897, in Merrill.
They continued to farm until 1912 when they retired and moved to Merrill. Mr. Dennler died in 1934.
Mrs. Dennler was a member of the Merrill Methodist church and a charter member of the American Legion auxiliary and the Tuesday Club at Merrill.
Survivors include one son, Arnold, of Sioux City; four daughters, Mrs. Florence Johnson, Sioux City; Miss Beulah Dennler, Merrill; Mrs. Alieta Doherty, Carroll; and Mrs. Lucille Cassell of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, and great grandchild.
Also four brothers, John J. Veidt, Sioux City; Henry D. Veidt, Stanton, N.D.; Lewis E. Veidt, Calispell, Mont.; and Frank M. Veidt, Merrill. A sister, Mrs. George Dennler, Merrill.

DENNLER FUNERALPallbearers for the Mrs. Emma Dennler funeral last Wednesday, June 11, were all members of the American Legion namely Alfred Jones, Dr. L.E. Stribley, Milton G. Irwin, Clarence Morris, Lawrence Jessen and Clem Singer.
Members of the American Legion auxiliary and the Tuesday Club attended the funeral in a body. All the grocery stores and the drug store were closed during the services.
Out of town relatives and friends included Mrs. J. Veidt and Mrs. Earl Dennler of Sioux City; Mrs. Mabel Bray of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mrs. Lillian Hill of Fairmont, Minn.;
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Martine and son, Clair, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Buehre and Mrs. Wallace Hemphill of LeMars; and Mrs. G.H. Todd of Moville.
