JOYCE MATTAS DIES,
SERVICES SET FOR FRIDAY

Funeral services for Joyce Katheryn Mattas, 9, of Merrill, who died Thursday, July 1, after a brief illness will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 4 at the residence and 2 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in LeMars. Rev. L. M. Straube will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Merrill cemetery.

Joyce Katheryn Mattas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mattas of Merrill, was born May 2, 1943, in LeMars. Her short lifetime was spent in Merrill where she attended the public school.

Survivors besides the parents are two sisters, Lonny Lee and Beverly; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hy Funk and great grandfather, Henry Funk. Also the great grandmother, Mrs. Marie Bornhoft of Pierre, S.D.

The body will be taken to the home in Merrill Thursday evening.

Pallbearers will be Evert Bunning, Marlyn Mattas, Frank Marienau, Darrell and Jarold Sorgdrager and Larry Bauerly. Soloist will be Don Wilde.

Lukens Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
