Funeral for Harvey E. Herman, 85, of LeMars, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Merrill United Methodist Church
Rev. Donald Bardole will officiate and burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Adaville. The family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Herman died May 20, 1985, at Floyd Valley Hospital after and extended illness.
He was born March 24, 1900, in Plymouth County to Edward and Emma Stinton Herman. He farmed in Plymouth County until his retirement in 1963 and moved to Merrill and to LeMars in 1984. He was a member of Merrill United Methodist Church.
His marriage to Mabel Gabel took place May 25, 1921, in Johnson Township.
Survivors are his wife, Mabel, of LeMars; five daughters, Mrs. Harry (Eva) Varenhorst of Merrill, Mrs. Virgil (Marjorie) Willer of Akron, Mrs. Don (Deloris) Bohlken of LeMars, Mrs. Verly (Shirley) Baker of Pickstown, S.D., and Mrs. Gladys Mroczkowski of LeMars; five sons, Gerald of Nodamay, Iowa, Willard and Duane of LeMars, Milford of Fontana, Calif., and Donald of Des Moines; a brother, Lester, of Merrill; 31 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Leland in infancy and Milton in 1969, and two grandsons.
