Mabel W. Hamilton
MERRILL, Iowa -- Mabel W. Hamilton, 83, of Merrill died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1988, in a care center in Akron.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill with the Rev. Frank Philipp officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at Merrill. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in Mauer Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Hamilton, the former Mabel Carstensen, was born Aug. 12,1905, in Plymouth County. She married Wesley Hamilton Oct. 9, 1929, in Merrill. He died in 1970. She was a lifelong Merrill area resident until moving to Vermillion, S.D., in l982 to be with her daughter. She had lived at the care center in Akron the last five years.
Mrs. Hamilton was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ronald Eugene (Fern) Heck of Vermillion and Mrs. Marlin (Joyce) Hutton of Windsor, Colo.; a son, William Hamilton of Merrill ; a sister, Mrs. Albert (Lucille) Husman of Merrill, a brother, Clarence Carstensen of LeMars; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Felix; a sis¬ter, Marie. and two infant sisters.
