FORMER MERRILL MAN DIED SUNDAY IN CHEROKEE HOSPITAL
James I. Taylor, long time resident of Merrill, died at a hospital in Cherokee on Sunday, March 24, after an illness of ten years. The immediate cause of his death was bronchial pneumonia.
Mr. Taylor was born September 23, 1880, at Georgetown, Wisconsin, and was 65 years 7 months and 1 day of age at the time of his death. When a boy of five he moved with his parents to Merrill, which has since been his home. He was united in marriage at Merrill on March 15, 1905, with Mary Ellen Howes, who with one daughter, Mrs. Duane Trometer, and one son Donald Taylor, all of Merrill, survives him. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. George Gabel, of Merrill and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Methodist Church in Merrill with Rev. Wm. Zabilka officiating and burial will be in the cemetery at Merrill with Witgen's in charge.
