LE MARS, Iowa - Lois H. Jimenez, 85, of Le Mars died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at her residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at First Plymouth Presbyterian Church in rural Le Mars, with the Rev. Randy Knuth officiating. Burial will be in First Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Mrs. Jimenez was born Oct. 9, 1914, in rural Le Mars, the daughter of Sylvan "Sid" and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Robertson) Locer. She graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1931.
She married Merlin Seipp on May 21, 1935, in Le Mars. She married Daniel Jimenez-V on April 1, 1948, in Vermillion, S.D.
She had lived in various Iowa communities, Chicago, Maryland, New Jersy, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and Vientiane Loas, before returning to Le Mars.
She was employed as a legal secretary for many years.
She was a member of First Plymouth Presbyterian Church, Friends of Le Mars Public Library, Business and Professional Women's Association and a former member of Plymouth County Community Health Board. She enjoyed traveling, theater, needle work and crafts.
Survivors include three daughters, Judith De Boer of Le Mars, Rebecca and her husband, Thomas Stovall, of Leavenworth, Kan., and Claudia and her husband, Terry Dugan, of Mansfield, Texas; a son and his wife, Dr. Daniel and Judy of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Steven De Boer, Jami Niehus, John Michael Jarecki and Erica, Timothy, Emily and Tony Jimenez; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Tone of Belgrade, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband; a son, Michael S.; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Lackore Jimenez; a son-in-law, John T. Jarecki Jr.; and a brother, Harvey Locer.
Pallbearers will be Dan and Tim Jimenez, Thomas Stovall, Terry Dugan, John Michael Jarecki and Dan, Paul, Tim and Dave Tone.
