Noble Harlan Zimmerman, the son of Walter G. and Anna Lippke Zimmerman was born March 1, 1918 on his parents' farm near Merrill, Iowa in Plymouth county, and died May 3, 2004 at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 86 years, 2 month and 2 days.

Noble was baptized and confirmed at the Stanton Township Evangelical United Brethern Church. He attended rural school in Plymouth county No. 4, then graduated from Merrill High School,with the class of 1926. Noble then operated the family farm and also worked as a welder in Le Mars, Iowa.

Noble was a member of Ross Evangelical United Brethern Church where he had served on the church coucil. He later became a member of First United Methodist Church of Audubon, where he participated in the Bible study, taught Sunday school, and was a member of United Methodist Men. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and enjoyed gardening and fishing with his friends.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his wife were his parents; his brothers and sisters: Kenneth Zimmerman; Roy and wife Wilma Zimmerman; Lois Rees and Evelyn Zimmerman.

Survivors include his son and wife, Wendell and Lynn Zimmerman of Hummeston, Iowa; his step grandchildren: Joshua Sheppard of Minnetonka, Minn., and Amber Sheppard of Omaha, Nebraska; his sisters: Carol Zimmerman; and Pearl and husband, Loren Smith, all of Waterville, Minnesota; his brother-in-law Harold Rees of Mountain Lake, Minn; and sister-in-law Shirley Zimmerman of North St. Paul, Minn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
