MRS. LENA REES, 81, OF SENEY SUCCUMBS; SERVICES ARE SET

Mrs. Lena May Rees, 81, died at Brentwood convalescent home Monday morning after an illness of several years.

She was born Aug. 8, 1885, in Florence, Ill., and came to Plymouth county as a child of 10. She had lived here since that time, residing at Brentwood since April.

Lena May Penning and Fred B. Rees were married Jan. 1, 1908, in Seney. She was the daughter of Eilert and Wubbeke Winkel Penning.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Seney Methodist church, with Rev. Milo Morris officiating. Burial will be in the Seney cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Marshall Rees of rural LeMars, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1935 and by two sisters and seven brothers.

Mrs. Rees was a member of the Seney Methodist church and LeMars Sunshine club.
