Funeral services for Fred R. Hanno, 75, who died Thursday at his home here, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Lowell Boettcher will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen, Iowa, City Cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.
Mr. Hanno was born Nov. 1, 1888, in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He married Laura Nitzschke Feb. 23, 1911, near Marcus, Iowa. Mr. Hanno was a retired farmer and former custodian of the Plymouth County Courthouse. He lived in the Remsen vicinity before coming to Le Mars in 1936.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1960. Survivors include three sons, Ervin L., Loren W., and Elmer L., all of Le Mars; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Athens and Mrs. Roy Haack, both of Le Mars, and Mrs. Charles Kirchoff of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; two brothers, John of Le Mars and Charles of Mitchell, S.D.; a sister, Mrs. J. K. Smith of Biloxi, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
