CLAUS HANNO
From the Remsen Bell, June 1901

The funeral of the late Claus Hanno occurred Sunday afternoon at half past two. The funeral was conducted by Rev. P. Hoeppner who was assisted in the ceremony by the members of the local lodge of the Iowa Legion of Honor, of which order Mr. Hanno had been a worthy member for a number of years. A large number of sorrowing friends attended to pay their last tribute of respect to the deceased and extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.

CLAUS HANNO

Claus Hanno died in his home in Henry township Thursday evening, June 6, about 8 o'clock. Deceased was born 52 years ago in Dithmarschen, Holstein, Germany, and came to this country 32 years ago. Symptoms of consumption began to show on him six years ago, and in the last year his health went down fast. Only recently he visited the healer Kruger in Epiphany, S.D., though himself and friends had but little hope for his recovery. He leaves a wife and eleven children in comfortable circumstances. The funeral will probably not take place until Sunday, as relatives from various distant points are expected to arrive.
