Alice Willer
Alice Dora Willer, 83, Akron, died Thursday, May 3, 1990, in the Akron Care Center after a long illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron with the Rev. Tim Mason officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. today with the family present from 7-8 p.m. in the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mrs. Willer, the former Alice Gabel, was born Sept. 15, 1906, in Plymouth County, the daughter of Milton and Lena (Harbst) Gabel. She married Edward H. Willer Feb. 18, 1928, in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. She taught in rural schools in the Akron area for many years.
Mrs. Willer was a member of the Home Culture Club for many years. She was the leader of the Sioux Valley Township Extension Club in South Dakota for many years and was a 4-H leader. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she was active in many organizations.
Survivors include her husband and six sisters, Mabel Herman and Martha Phillips, both of LeMars; Edith Burkett of Abilene, Tex., Mildred Stoel, of Akron, Leone Knowles of Council Bluffs and Evelyn Gabel, of Santa Rosa, N. M.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian.
