Mrs. Josephine Dugan

Mrs. Josephine Dugan, 78, longtime LeMars resident, died early Friday (Sept. 1, 1978) at St. Anthony’s hospital, Carroll.

She had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Burkett, and family at Carroll and had been hospitalized two weeks.

Mrs. Dugan was born Nov. 21, 1899, at Ute to John and Anila Seivers Stodden. She married Harold Dugan Jan. 24, 1921, at Mapleton and the couple farmed in the Kingsley area, moving to LeMars in 1929.

Mr. Dugan died Oct. 30, 1969, in LeMars. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.

Mrs. Dugan was a member of St. Joseph’s parish, LeMars, and was active in church circles.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic church, LeMars.
Rev. Francis Staber will officiate and burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home in LeMars.

The rosary will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Allen, Denver; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Shiela) Burkett, Carroll; seven grandchildren and a great grandchild.
