Prominent LeMars Auctioneer Dies Driving Car

LeMars, Ia. – Special: F. A. Geitz, 65, widely known auctioneer, died of a heart attack Monday while driving his car down a LeMars street.

Sheriff Frank Scholer said the car jumped the curb, struck a tree and grazed a house. Dr. F. C. Bendixen said Mr. Geitz was dead before the automobile struck the curb.

Friends said that Mr. Geitz recently had complained that his heart “bothered him.”

He and his widow had operated the Geitz Auction house here. He is survived by the widow.
