Store manager at Carmen's dead at age 54

Mrs. Bill (Erlene) McDougall, 54, Le Mars native and businesswoman, died Saturday ((Sept. 24, 1983) at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City, after a brief illness.

She was Pretty Plus Women's store manager for five years and manager of Carmen's Dress Shop for two years, a position she held at the time of her death.

Mrs. McDougall entered the hospital Aug. 25.

Erlene Esther Plueger was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Le Mars to Louis and Emma Berg Plueger. She married William McDougall Aug. 8, 1949, at Elk Point, S. D. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Le Mars.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church. Le Mars, with Rrev. Leonared Root officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral home.

A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband, Bill; two sons, Barry and Mike, and a daughter, Cindy McDougall, all of Le Mars; three grandchildren, Valerie, Heather and Zachary McDougall; two brothers, Donald Plueger, Hemet, Calif., and Wallace Plueger, Banning, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Plueger.
