Samuel Haudenshield
Samuel Haudenshield, 76, lifelong rural LeMars resident, died Thursday (May 9, 1974) at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness. He had been hospitalized two weeks. Mr. Haudenshield was born Sept. 6, 1897, in Plymouth county, on the same farm where he was still residing. His parents were the late John and Mary (Vrechling) Haudenshield. He was a semi-retired farmer.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Mauer funeral chapel with Rev. Tom Balm of the Calvary United Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in the LeMars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home, Mr. Haudenshield was a member of Calvary United Methodist church.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Loraine Jennings of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Marlene Seivert of Sibley and Mrs. Gladys Harms, rural LeMars; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Uthe of Presho, S.D. and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
