LE MARS, Iowa - Marjorie Mary Hoffman, 74, of rural Le Mars died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Merrill, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mrs. Hoffman was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Le Mars, the daughter of Clarence and Meta Morris. She was raised in the rural Le Mars area. She attended Washington Township 5 School, Merrill High School and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1942. She was employed at a medical clinic and on her parents farm.

She married Theodore Hoffman on June 12, 1949. The couple farmed near Le Mars. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.

Survivors include her husband; four sons and their wives, David and Mary Kay, Kenneth and Lynne and Robert and Eliese, all of Merrill and Michael and Stacy of Le Mars; five daughters and their husbands, Deanna and Tom Wolf of North Bend, Neb., Kathy and Paul Vande Water of Lincoln, Neb., Rebecca and David Weseman of Omaha, Neb., Mary and Jeff Roder of Merrill and Marcia and Charles Johnson of Sheldon, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Tom and Alex Wolf, Scott and Matt Hoffman, Adam Vande Water and Gary Sitzmann.
