Pearl Rose (Kunkel) Cox, 72 years old, of Thornton, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Thornton, Co.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Friends may call anytime after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA.

Pearl was born April 13, 1939, at Remsen, IA, the daughter of Edward J. & Mary (Boever) Kunkel. Pearl was raised in the Remsen, Kingsley & Alton, IA areas. Pearl stayed at home & took care of the family. She married Raymond Cox on July 20, 1963 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen. The couple made their home in Minnesota before they moved to Colorado 1973.

Survivors include; her husband Raymond of Thornton, CO; One son, Keith Cox & his wife Karen of Thornton, CO; Two daughters, Virginia Mary Cox of Nederland, CO, Anona Tase &her husband Albert of Romney, WV; 11) grandchildren; 6) great-grandchildren; Two sisters, LaVonne Fiedler of Remsen, Lorna Loutsch of Westfield, IA; One brother, Darrel Kunkel & his wife Vida of Sioux City, IA; One sister-in-law, Barb Kunkel of Moville, IA; Numerous nieces, nephews & friends.

Preceded by: Her parents, two daughters, Renee Nelson & Julie Cox, one brother, Paul Kunkel, three brothers-in-law, Roman Fiedler, Ronald Loutsch & James Cox.

Casket Bearers will be: Scott & Edward Kunkel, John & Jamie Fiedler, Tim & Brad Loutsch.
