Obituary for Kevin E. Hombs

Kevin Edward Hombs age, 59, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday August 7, 2017 at Larkin Chapel Christy Smith Funeral Homes with burial following at Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service.

Kevin was born on February 2, 1958, the son of Donald and Patricia (Silhacek) Hombs in Sioux City. He attended school in Westfield, Iowa and then attended Sioux City West High School. Kevin graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School in 1976.
He worked as an electrician with the IBEW local 231 for more than 20 years before his health forced his retirement. Kevin enjoyed fishing, hunting and singing along with his guitar.

Kevin is survived by his mother Patricia Silhacek, of Dakota Dunes, S.D., his two brothers: Kyle and wife Cathy of Dixon, Illinois, and Kerry of Sioux City. He is also survived by his sister Danna Schuster and her husband Steve of Le Mars. Kevin also is survived by his Nieces and Nephews: Jessica Hoffman, Jacob Hoffman, Jordan Renkel, Nikaile Hombs, Kylee Hombs, Sean Schuster and his great-nephew Josiah Hombs.
