Virginia Lambert, 81, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Pastor James Strickland of the Church of the Nazarene in Le Mars and Chaplain Marie Lykken from Hospice of Siouxland will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will be after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all at the funeral home. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com.

Virginia Lee Barwick was born August 18, 1933 in Alcolu, South Carolina, the daughter of Watson and Margaret (Cutter) Barwick. She attended grade school in South Carolina. While Ralph was serving his country during the Korean War, he met Virginia''s brother, Watson. Ralph began writing to Virginia, and after returning from the war, he and Virginia met in person. While Ralph was farming near Le Mars, he and Virginia continued to correspond with each other. On August 11, 1961, they were united in marriage in Akron. They made their home on a farmstead west of Le Mars. For the past 3 and half years, Virginia has been a resident of Plymouth Manor in Le Mars. Virginia was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene in Le Mars. Through the years, she enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting dolls and lighthouses. She also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, and doing crossword and word search puzzles. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph of Le Mars; a son: Cliff (Candy) Lambert of Struble, Iowa and their daughter, Chelby; a daughter: Margaret (Clint) Sargent of Missouri Valley, IA, and their children: Nathan and Tony; a sister: Betty (John) Lambert of Le Mars; three sisters in law: Viola Lambert of Merrill, IA, Lillian Barwick of Sumter, SC, and Margaret Barwick of Sumter, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Lillian (Willie) Wingaet; three brothers: Watson Barwick, Joe Barwick, and Marion (Carrie) Barwick; brother in law, Robert Lambert; and sister in law, Amelia (Jack) Henrich.
