Bette Waite, 87, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars with Reverend Jan Christensen officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Jason Lake, Matt Lake, Scott Reese, Bill Bomgaars, Don DeJager, and Herb Caswell.

Bette Weimer was born September 22, 1927 at Marcus, Iowa to Roy and Blanche (Woodall) Weimer. She attended school in Milbank, SD, Hartley, Iowa, Spencer, Iowa and graduated from Storm Lake High School. She furthered her education at a business school in Sioux City, Iowa. Bette was united in marriage to Glenn Waite on October 19, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Storm Lake. The couple moved to Le Mars in March of 1948. Bette was a longtime member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ where she served as a Deacon and volunteered with many other church groups. She was also a longtime member of the "Eight to Late Club" and volunteered for numerous organizations including 25 years on the Plymouth Manor Advocate Committee and Meals on Wheels. She was employed for over 25 years with the Plymouth County Department of Human Services. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, having coffee and visiting with her family and friends. Her efforts to rescue homeless animals will always be a heartwarming memory. Bette loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her husband and best friend of 67 years, Glenn of Le Mars; a daughter and son-in-law, Christie Lake and her husband Jerry of Le Mars; two grandsons, Jason and Danielle Lake and their children Alexandra and Jordan all of Simi Valley, California and Matt and Wendy Lake and their children Cooper and Brody all of Marietta, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Reese and her husband Jim of Storm Lake, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents.
