Sharon Yvonne Anderson was born on December 31, 1933 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Roy H. and Verna H. (Knight) Anderson. She attended elementary through high school in her hometown. She graduated in 1952, as an Honor Graduate, from Wichita Falls High School. Sharon attended Draughon’s Business college and Midwestern University for 2 years in Wichita Falls. Sharon met and married the love of her life, Dave Albert, at the First Evangelical United Brethren Church while he was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. She and her new husband were than transferred to Amarillo, TX where Sharon worked as the secretary for the president of Shamrock Oil, while Dave continued his service in the Air Force.

After Dave was discharged from the service, he took his bride back to his hometown of Le Mars, Iowa. There they began their farming career on the Pesch farm north of Le Mars. Sharon worked for the ASC office for the first five years of this new life. Then in 1962, they settled on the Albert homestead farm where they raised three children - Susan, Phillip, and Scott. Their livelihood was recognized as “Century Farm” in 1985. They continued this career until retiring in 1995. In 2007 Sharon and Dave built their “new” home in Le Mars.

Sharon loved her church and community. She served on the numerous boards and committees for the First United Methodist Church of Le Mars, sang in the choir, and helped in any capacity where there was a need. Sharon also devoted time to the Christian Needs Center; and the Floyd Valley Hospital Auxiliary. The Le Mars Chamber of Commerce awarded her with Outstanding Volunteer of the Year. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (MeeMaw), sister, aunt, and friend. Dave and Sharon were devoted to each other for 56 years. They loved the role of parent to their children and to their grandchildren. They worked together and separately in support of the community. Both Dave and Sharon were amazing friends and a source of strength to many who entered their lives. They will be missed, but the legacy they leave will continue on in the lives of all who knew and loved them.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her children Susan Albert, New York, NY, Philip Albert of Sioux City, IA, and Scott Albert of Le Mars; grandchildren Brittany Albert of Orange City, IA and Katie Noteboom Albert of Orange City, IA; a sister Betty (Anderson) Crane of Wichita Falls, TX; a brother David S.
