Survivors include her two sons; David Port and his wife Karen of Las Vegas, Nevada and their children Jacob and Haley; and Scott Port and his wife Pam of Rockford, Michigan and their children Megan and Beau. Following the passing of Jack, Kay decided to refocus her tormenting ways on her sons Dave & Scott, to which both Dave and Scott concede, she was extremely successful. Today, Dave and Scott have found modern medicine a welcome addition to their lives, but their children continue to look at them strangely and just shake their heads in disbelief. On the flip side, everyone Dave and Scott speak with, regale "Sarge" as a wonderful woman, who could light up a room with her smile, thoughts and words. She was truly a woman with a kind heart and soul. We'll miss her laugh and smile. She loved a good time whenever friends got together, and always made us feel welcome.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl & Bessie Sargent, husband Jack in May of 2003, and brother Robert "Bob" Sargent.
