Robert "Bob" Pecks, age 68, of Okoboji, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at his home in Okoboji.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1945, in Le Mars, to Bernard and Margaret (Kock) Pecks. Bob was united in marriage to Denise Determan on July 3, 2004, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford.

Bob graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1963, and Buena Vista College. While in college, he was a member of the ROTC Program. He worked for Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Company and Polaris Industries as a production manager. Bob was instrumental in the design of the Victory motorcycle for Polaris.

Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake, the Corvette Club, Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed spending his spare time fishing, hunting, bowling, boating, traveling, and watching Nebraska Cornhuskers football games. His true passion was for anything with a motor.

Bob is survived by his wife, Denise Pecks of Okoboji; his four children, Todd Pecks of Lincoln, Neb., Sandy Delaney, and her husband, Jason of Lincoln, Neb., Tracey Gulyas, and her husband, Josh of Santee, Calif., and Sherri Kenworthy, and her husband, Dale of Lincoln, Neb.; his mother, Margaret Pecks of Le Mars; sister, Kristy Pecks of Le Mars; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard; and sister, Betty Jane Fisher.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Schuchert Funeral Home. Burial was at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Following the graveside service there was a reception at Bob's mothers home in Le Mars.

The Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
