Dorothy Pecks, 92, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Monday morning, February 18, 2008 at Happy Siesta Nursing and Rehab in Remsen, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2008 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with Reverend Gary Landsness of St. John''s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitations with the family present will be after 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitations will continue at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Dorothy Ann Foley was born September 10, 1915 on the family farm near Oyens, Iowa to William and Elizabeth (Therans) Foley. Dorothy attended St. Joseph''s Catholic School in Le Mars. She was united in marriage to Hilton "Red" Pecks on February 13, 1940 in Le Mars. Dorothy was a homemaker to her family. She will be remembered as an "awesome cook" by her family. Dorothy enjoyed cooking for her family; especially baking pies and famous corn fritters. Dorothy enjoyed decorating her home with cardinal figurines. Through the years, Dorothy enjoyed bowling and watching the Chicago Cub's play. She was also a past president of the Le Mars Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Hilton "Red" Pecks of Le Mars; a son, David Pecks of Appleton, Wisconsin; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Russell Graves of Breckenridge, Minnesota and Gayle and Dean Grogan of Appleton, Wisconsin; 2 grandchildren, Nathan Graves and Angela Cruff and her husband Brad; 2 great grandsons, Thomas McAndrew and Samuel Cruff; a brother, William "Bill" Foley and his wife Lorraine of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth (Therans) Foley; a brother, Milton "Bud" Foley; a sister, Jean Shott; and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Pecks.
