Orlando "Tobey" Harvey Jr., 88, of Le Mars passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home in Le Mars, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Le Mars Church of Christ with Pastor Luke Cargin and Mike Porter officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Wednesday evening, all at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsenfuneralhome.com. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Martini, Patrick Martini Jr., Gary Carrigan, Mathew Anderson, Sean Barber, and Mike Harvey.

Orlando "Tobey" Harvey was born June 27, 1927 in Hawarden, Iowa to Orlando and Lillian (Bedard) Harvey. Tobey was baptized at the Church of Christ Church in Akron. As a child, Tobey attended country school near his home in Hawarden and later the family moved near Akron where he continued his education. Tobey was united in marriage to Tena Harkness on June 28, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa. As a young man, he went to work for the Akron creamery driving truck for 12 years. In 1963, Tobey began working for Well''s Dairy as a truck driver, retiring in 1989 after 28 years of service. Tobey and Tena enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the years. They had traveled in every state West of the Mississippi river. The couple also enjoyed spending many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Tobey enjoyed watching college sports and attending high school athletic events. He especially enjoyed following Iowa college football and Ohio State football. He was a longtime member of the Le Mars Church of Christ Church; having served as an Elder and Trustee throughout the years. He was always very active with missions and enjoyed volunteering wherever needed. He often shared the church was his extended family. While living in Akron, Tobey was a member of the Akron Fire Department and had served as Fire Chief for over 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Tena of Le Mars; two daughters: Lynette Bucknell of Lewisville, TX and Peggy Martini and her husband Patrick of Emmetsburg, IA. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Julie (Sean) Barber of Flower Mound, Tx, Mathew Anderson of McPherson, KS, Nicholas (Angie) Martini of Ruthven, IA, Emily Martini of Columbus, Ohio, Elizabeth (Gary) Carrigan of Emmetsburg, IA, and Patrick Jr. (Amy) Martini of Emmetsburg, IA; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers: Donald, Glen, Kenneth, William, and John Harvey; 5 sisters: Maxine Boetger, Margie Clarey, Lois Waterbury, Frances Rosenbaum, and Ellen Holtgrewe; and two great grandchildren, Isaac and Christian.
