Dorothy Margaret Ehrp, 99 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church E.L.C.A. in Le Mars with Pastor Jean Ziettlow officiating. A visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 all at the Rexwinkel-Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

Dorothy Margaret Petersen was born on June 26, 1917 to John and Margaret (Paulsen) Petersen in rural Merrill, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Merrill. She attended country school in Washington Township. In 1939 she moved to Le Mars with her parents where she was a housekeeper at the E. A. Dalton home for two and a half years. On December 13, 1941, she married Lloyd Ehrp at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars by Reverend L. L. Belk. The couple lived in Sioux City for a time before farming in the Remsen area. They moved to Le Mars in 1976 where she worked at the Le Mars Community School and later as a custodian and library aide at the Le Mars Public Library. Lloyd passed away on February 21, 1995. Dorothy continued to live at her home until October of 2012 when she moved to Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars. She was member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. In her youth, she enjoyed gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and crocheting.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Ken (Jean) Ehrp of Sioux Center, Iowa, Sandy (Jerry) Krier of Remsen, Iowa, and Janice (Dick) Milne of Le Mars, Iowa; grandchildren: Beth (Rich) Hughes, Brian (Emilie) Ehrp, Jared (Diedra) Ehrp, Laura (Lynn Henderson) Sequeira, Luke Krier, Mark (Wendy) Milne, Michael (Blanca) Milne, and John Milne; 13 great grandchildren; brother in law, Verdine Bremer of Ida Grove, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; grandson, Adam Krier; siblings, Anna, Jack, Bill, and Martha.
