Ila M. McMurray, 90, of Le Mars passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Reverend John Battern of the United Methodist Church of Le Mars will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.

Ila Marie Linn was born March 1, 1922 in Ida Grove, the daughter of Harry and Carrie (Pederson) Linn. She attended school in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. She was united in marriage to Clifford K. McMurray on February 25, 1942 in Leeds. Early on, Ila worked in the retail hardware business until staying home to raise their son, Clifford II. Later on, she returned to the retail business, helping her family for many years while they operated a hardware store in Le Mars. Clifford passed away in 2000. Since 2004, Ila has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Le Mars. Through the years, she was also a member of various community leader organizations. She loved animals, singing, and sports. But most of all, she loved the times spent with her grandchildren. She loved to read and to read to her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her son, Clifford McMurray II and his wife Tina of Le Mars; 3 grandchildren: Clifford McMurray III and his wife Jennifer of Rockville, MD, Morgan McMurray of Ames, IA, and Shelby McMurray of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford; 3 sisters: Gertrude Linn, Hazel Miller and Lucille Kowalczk; and a brother: Marion Linn.
