Frances Braband, 94, of Le Mars passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at The Abbey in Le Mars, Iowa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa with Reverend Jan Christensen of Presbyterian United Church of Christ officiating. A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present after 5:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Carlsen Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa.

Frances Elizabeth Weber was born on January 21, 1921 to Albert C. and Alice (Merritt) Weber in rural Le Mars, Iowa. Frances was united in marriage to Maynard Braband on August 27, 1940 at St. John's Evangelical Church in Le Mars, Iowa. Frances learned to play the piano at a young age and was an avid player all her life. She was actively involved in church, teaching Sunday School, and nurtured a strong faith in the Bible and in her Lord and Savior. Her favorite flowers were zinnas and planted many in her large garden. She enjoyed canning vegetables, playing cards and loved all her dogs and cats. She will be remembered as a great cook and a wonderful mother.

Frances is survived by her son, Lloyd (Kathy) Braband of rural Le Mars; three step-grandsons: Russ (Shelly) Mercer of Ocean Springs, MO, and their children Miranda, Dielle, Ani and Apsen, Jerry (LuAnne) Mc Veigh of Young America, MN, and Jim Mc Veigh of Young America, MN; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mabel Braband, Bob and Lou Galbraith, and Sylvia Johnson all of Balaton, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard (2009); a son, Virgil (1953); a brother, Stanley Weber; a daughter-in-law, Gay L. Braband; seven sisters-in-law: Edith Armstrong, Eva Campbell, Jennie DeVries, Lorna Parkinson, Ruth Ioos, Gladys Johnson, and Edna Deal; and three brothers-in-law: Don Braband, Elmer (Butch) Braband, and Wallace Braband.
