Eileen Lubben, 83, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. John''s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. with Reverend Gary Landsness officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery, Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Thursday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Eileen Ruth Chamberlain was born March 19, 1928 in Le Mars, Iowa to Art and Minnie (Bremer) Chamberlain. Eileen was baptized into the Baptist faith. She received her education at several schools in northwest Iowa. As a young girl, Eileen went to work for Well''s Dairy. She later worked for 18 years at Spurgeon''s Department Store. After leaving Spurgeon''s, Eileen worked for nearly 20 years as a home health aide assisting people to continue to live at home. She continued this until retirement. Eileen was united in marriage to Kenneth Lubben on June 25, 1948 at St. John''s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Eileen and Ken were blessed with 2 children, Michael and Patricia. Eileen enjoyed painting, ceramics and crocheting afghans for family and friends. She was always busy with her hands, from fancy work to tending to flowers and plants in her home.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Kenneth of Le Mars; a daughter, Patricia of Le Mars; a granddaughter, Rachel Grace Lubben of Colorado; a brother, Lloyd Chamberlain of Olympia, WA; a brother-in-law, Robert Lubben and his wife Loretta of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Minnie (Bremer) Chamberlain; a son, Michael Richard Lubben; a brother, Marvin Chamberlain; and a sister, Alice Chamberlain.
