SIOUX CITY | Wayne Lang, 93, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Countryside Senior Living in Sioux City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Remsen, Iowa, with the Rev. Pete Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Remsen Community Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 3328 and American Legion Post 220 of Remsen. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

Wayne was born on Feb. 1, 1922, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Albert and Irene (Stockstill) Lang. He was raised and educated in the Remsen area and attended country school to the eighth grade. He then attended Remsen Public School, where he played basketball and graduated in 1939. He then attended business school in Sioux City, where he worked a couple of years. He then worked in D.C. until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in November 1943. He was attached to the 5th Armored Division until the end of World War II.

He graduated from the University of Denver in 1950. He worked as as an accountant in several cities before settling in Sioux City, where he was an accountant for the city for 20 years, retiring in 1984. In his retirement he would often come to the farm and help his brothers with the farm work. He entered Countryside Senior Living on April 25, 2014.

He was a member of the National American Legion.

Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Cote of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; a brother, Howard Lang of Remsen; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Remsen policeman Kevin Rollins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roger and Clyde; two sisters, Grace (William) Stine and Rita (Lester) Rollins; and one brother-in-law, Bernard Cote.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Rollins, John Maloney, Butch Snyder, Shaun Niehus and Kyle Niehus.
