LAST RITES FOR JAMES KAIN

Final rites were held Friday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Ellendale, with Rev. Fr. T. J. McKenna officiating, for James T. Kain, who was fatally shot while attempting to rob Mike’s Tavern at Craig early Christmas morning.

Kain was shot about 4 a. m. and was rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital, Le Mars, where he lived until 5:15 o’clock Christmas afternoon. Interment was made in the Ellendale Cemetery.

James Kain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kain, of near Adaville, was born in Johnson Township, July 22, 1913, and at the time of his death was 21 years, 5 months, and 3 days old.

He lived most of his life in Plymouth County, and attended the schools here. Previous to his death he had been employed at the Sachse Garage in Sioux City.
