Raymond Singer

Raymond (Kelly) Singer, 88, lifelong Merrill resident, died Thursday (Aug. 5, 1976) at Plymouth Manor, Le Mars, after a lingering illnss. He had lived at the manor for two years.

Mr. Singer was born Dec. 20, 1888, at Merrill to Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Singer. He worked as a laborer and lived at Merrill his entire life. His marriage to Eileen LaBon took place Sept. 25, 1941, at Maryville, Mo.

Funeral services wil be held Monday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the assumption at Merrill. Rev. Donald Smith will officiate and burial will be in Hillside cemetery under direction of the Luedtke funreral home in Le Mars. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors are his wife Eileen: four daughters. Mrs. Henry (Mary Kaye) Reiken, and Mrs. Steve (Linda) Frost both of Merrill: Mrs. Darrell (Peg) Hagerman, Hinton, and Mrs. Leo (Sandra) Ludwigs of Craig: two sons. Wiliam in the United States navy, stationed in Scotland and Kevin at home. There are 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Guy and two brothers, Clem and Nicholas.
