Final Rites Held For Old Resident

Mrs. Dorfmeyer of Akron Succumbs To Illness

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lutheran church in Akron, Rev. J. F. Moore officiating in the absence of Rev. E. G. Svenson the pastor who was ill, for Mrs. Gretchen Dorfmeyer, 76, who died March 11. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery, Akron.

Mrs. Dorfmeyer was born October 21, 1862, in Amsterdam, Holland, and in young womanhood was united in marriage with S. B. Dorfmeyer. After coming to the United States they resided at various places and settled in Plymouth county, Iowa, twenty years ago. Mr. dorfmeyer passed away in 1932.

She is survived by two sons and four daughters, Fred Dorfmeyer; Mrs. Bertha Frye, of Tillamock, Oregon; Mrs. Rieka Reierson, of Beresford, S. D.; Gerhardt Dorfmeyer, of Hartley, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Kjose, of Elk Point, S. D.; Mrs. Lyda Brown of Akron, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Dorfmeyer was a kind and devoted wife and mother, a helpful and sympathetic friend and neighbor, whose many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
