DEATH CLAIMS GLADYS EATMON
DAUGHTER OF MR. AND MRS. WILBUR LAUX
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Laux were notified Monday morning of the death (June 17, 1946) of their daughter, Mrs. Gladys Eatmon, at the University hospital, Iowa City, where she had two weeks earlier undergone an operation for brain tumor. She had been in the hospital for seven weeks under treatment and appeared to be making satisfactory progress until Saturday when her parents were notified she had taken a turn for the worse and an emergency operation must be performed. Mrs. Eatmon came to Le Mars in March from her home at Priest River, Idaho, because of failing health and eyesight, and on April 28 she entered University hospital. Gladys M. Laux was born on a farm south of Le Mars, March 18, 1917, moved with her parents to Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars high school. She was married about three years ago to C. H. Eatmon and since his return from military service overseas, they have been living in Oregon and Idaho. She is survived by her parents, four sisters, Mrs. Milo Murray, Plattsmouth, Neb., Mrs. Keith Bartels, Pittsburg, Pa., Jean and Margaret, and an adopted sister, Donnie, the latter three living at home. The funeral will be at the Luken Funeral Home at 2 p. m. Wednesday, Rev. J. J. Share officiating, and burial in the city cemetery.
