THRONGS ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICE

HUNDREDS OF NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS PAY LAST TRIBUTE TO EDGAR BETSWORTH

Last rites were held Tuesday morning in St. Joseph Church at Ellendale for Edgar Betsworth, well known farmer and stock raiser in Johnson township and a resident of Plymouth County all his life.

The funeral was one of the largest ever held in Plymouth County and was attended by several hundred people, many whom were personal friends and close acquaintances of the departed man.

Taking part in the services were Rev. Father T. J. McKenna, pastor of the churches in Merrill and Ellendale, Rev. A. J. Foerster, of Rock Valley, formerly in charge of these parishes, and Rev. L. J.. Cooper, of Le Mars.

Rev. Father McKenna and Rev. Father Foerster spoke in regard to the life of the deceased and paid a tribute dwelling on the attributes he possessed of good citizenship, loyalty to country and the community. Many neighbors and life long friends paid their last respects to a man who was held in universal respect.

The pallbearers, old friends and neighbors, were T. J. Hoffman, J. W. Hoffman, D. P. Hoffmann, Ben Knapp, T. F. Hoffmann and BErt Hoss.

The interment was made in the cemetery at Ellendale.
