Dobbert, Herman E. 1855-1917

Herman E. Dobbert was born in Karizig, Germany, on the fifth of March, 1855. He camer to this country with his parents when yet an infant. His parents first settled in the state of Wisconsin, later moving to Black Hawk County, Iowa, and in 1870 they settled on the farm which is now the home of their son, W. F. Dobbert. It was in this community that the deceased grew to manhood and spent the greater part of his life, having moved in his late home near Struble about four years ago.

The cause of Mr. Dobbert's death was diabetes aggravated by other complications. The deceased leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, W. F. Dobbert, of Stanton township, and Mr. Frank Dobbert, of Struble; two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Pfister and Mrs. Lena Dralle, a number of nephews and nieces, besides a host of friends.

The funeral services were held in the Stanton United Evangelical Church and were conducted by Rev. J. J. DeWall, assisted by Rev. G. A. Tyler, of Struble. Teh interment was made in the Stanton Township cemetery.
