Death of John Friedrich
Death called John G. Friedrich, an early pioneer of Preston township, Monday, at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 2 days. Internal illness and complication of diseases was the cause of his death.
John Friedrich was born in Germany on March 11, 1848, and came to the United States when a small boy and settled in Davenport, Ia. He enlisted in the Civil war with the Union army. When the war was over he moved to Benton county, Iowa, where he lived for several years. From Benton county he came to Plymouth county in 1879, where he had been living ever since. Deceased was united in marriage to Anna Reichert.
He is survived by his widow and three sons, Edward, Herman and Henry, all of Plymouth county. A son, John, died several years ago, during the influenza epidemic.
The funeral will be held from the Preston township Lutheran church, Friday afternoon, the Rev. Theo. Meyer officiating.
