Funeral services for Mrs. Jesse Kallsen, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 1968, at Akron, were held Wednesday, November 27, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. Harris Hostager officiating.
Musical numbers were sung by Mrs. Darwyn Klemme and Mrs. Norman Neilsen, accompanied by Marlys Hitzemann.
Lornena Witt was born August 30, 1897, near Akron. On December 5, 1917, she was married to Jesse Kallsen in Akron. Mr. and Mrs. Kallsen farmed near Akron for 55 years and retired and moved to town in 1952.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Clarence of Le Mars; five daughters; Mrs. Ray Boetger of Le Mars; Mrs. Harvey Lias, Mrs. wendell Borchers and Mrs. Lu Verne Helmrichs, all of Akron; and Mrs. Patrick Callahan of Van Nuys, Calif; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Witt and R. G. Witt, both of Akron and two sisters, Mrs. Herman Reemts of Akron, and Mrs. John Harms of Le Mars.
Pall bearers were: Eldon Kallsen, Douglas Harms, Raymond Tapper, Arlo Rozell, Robert Witt; and Darrell Monckton.
Burial was in the Riverside cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home.
