Anna E. Reemts

Anna E. Reemts, 95, Akron, died Friday (Feb. 12, 1988) in the Akron City Convalescent Care Center.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. Rev. Benard Nelson officiated. Jon Harris soloist, san "Beautiful Isle of Somewhre" and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus" accompanied by Carol Harris. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of Schroeder funeral home in Akron.

Pallbearers were LuVerne fickbohm, Darrell Kiewel, Elmer Kuehn, Don Halweg, Ed Kiewel, and Bruce Reemts.

Mrs. Reemts, the former Anna Kiewel, was born Nov. 18, 1892, in Union county, S. D. to William and Bertha Lauchstedt Kiewel. She married John Reemts, June 7, 1911, in Union county. They farmed in the Akron area. Mr. Reemts died April 8, 1943. She worked as a clerk at the Sunshine Market and Younkers in Sioux City. She spent a few years in California, and lived 20 years in Sioux City. She havd lived at the Akron City Convalescent Care CEnter since October 1987.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron and a charter member of the Hoschler American Legion Auxiliary in Akron.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Esther) Halweg of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildrena nd two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two sons, Russell and Arden; four brothers and five sisters.
